Twilight

Wow.... I know I know you have all been telling me how amazing the Twilight book series are, but I could not get into it. I read the first two chapters about four times in hopes of getting "hooked". It never happened, so I read Chasing Harry Winston.. then I moved on to the Pretty Little Liars series and read all four of those. Still everywhere I turned people were talking about Twilight, so I relentlessly picked it up for one last try. Luckily I was in a situation where I could read for an hour or stare at the wall for an hour. Now I am so incredibly "hooked". I cannot get enough. I just started on New Moon and I am sure I will get through it by the end of the weekend. Now I hear a fourth book is coming... I can't wait to read them all. I highly recommend these books to everyone!!!!

Earthquake

So the "big" earthquake happened a couple days ago. Toby knew something was up about 20 min. before I did. He started barking uncontrollably...then the entire house started shaking. I only lasted for about 20-30 seconds. We are fine and everyone I know is fine. The extent of the damage was a broken glass that I found in the cabinet. It just reconfirmed for me how exaggerated our news programs have gotten. I go a text from so many people asking if I was okay (thank you to all of you for thinking of me), but really it sounded so much worse than it really was. Maybe when we hear something on the news we should try to divided the trauma by say...10....that should make it closer to accurate.

It go me thinking... obviously it is important for us to watch the news...learn about what is going on in not just our wonderful country but the world...but are some of the reporting styles doing more harm than good?

(I kind of feel a little like Carrie from Sex and the City...lol)

First Blog

Well I decided to jump on the bandwagon and start blogging. Me and Toby are still out in California. I think we are still deciding if we like it.

Pros:
-Weather!
-Beach
-Shopping
-Sprinkles Cupcakes... mmmm

Cons:
-Away from family
-Fleas... dogs get fleas in California, we learned that the hard way.
-No good movie theaters...can you believe it I have only found one movie theater with stadium seating
- Gas prices... I know its a lot everywhere, but I am pay $5 per gallon... ouch!

So many decisions to make, but I have had a wonderful summer waking up and eating my cookie crisp cereal while I watch the waves crash.

Toby and I miss you all very much! I am enjoying looking at every one's blogs, it feels like the only way I know what is going on in your lives.
